And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It's really sad when you catch one. I feel like praying to the Great Spirit and asking for a bit of forgiveness as I slip it into the kreel. You're right. They are magnificently beautiful. Native Cut-Throat come in second to the Brookies in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteP. S. Brook Trout are small (usually, though I've caught them up to 3 lbs) but they are very tasty, particularly when cooked over the coals.
