And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The family cats
The grey one was a stray, the blue eyed one was a pound cat. Both of them are affectionate - for cats.
Well, they don't hold a candle to the dog, who about loses his composure when we come home or offer to let him in the house. The cats, on the other hand, are only mildly amused by our antics, although they will lay on us and purr for as long as someone will pet them.
As I've told you before, I do love them blue cats. The ones I've had (and known) would carry on an extensive dialogue when their designated human would return from the wars.
I am NOT a cat person. However, like many men, I married into cats. Wife has a Russian Blue (the grey one in the pic) and these are the most chatty cats I've ever seen. This one is hilarious; loves to sleep, more so than most cats, and likes company, so she comes in to where I am (she adopted me) and mrow mrow? This means, 'come to bed.' Wish the wife mrow mrow'd half as much. baboy
I like the qualifier.

DeleteOurs will actually reach out and grab someone if they don't pay enough attention to him, or if they stop caressing him too soon.

ReplyDeleteAnd then jump in their lap.
