And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Beautiful aircraft. Thanks for posting that photo.
My dad trained in the Stearman, a similar bi-plane, as an aviation cadet (although he already had his private pilot's license as a civilian) in the Army Air Corps, he then trained in the B-24, but he and his crew were sent over to England to fly B-17's instead. He re-enlisted after the war and flew B-47s and then B-52s for SAC.
I've been up in a Travel Air and it was awesome! Truly the way to experience flying. Travel Air was started by Clyde Cessna, Walter Beech, and Lloyd Stearman before they went their separate ways. http://www.kshs.org/kansapedia/travel-air-manufacturing-company/17386
