For some reason, I feel the need to read some Edward Abbey, so I rummaged around on the shelves and came up with one of my all time favorites, Desert Solitaire.  As an aficionado of the high desert of eastern California and western Nevada, these stories have always appealed to me. They combine a hard bitten realism and practicality with a dose of 60's pop philosophy that is quite appealing.  Just remember, Hayduke lives!
