And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Neighbor retired from repairing, installing & collecting from those things...30 years ago. Was *still* talking about his job, like he just retired last week. Still, a great guy.
Ahhh, a reminder of my 44 year career with AT&T. Didn't have anything to do with pay phones though. Started with AT&T Long Lines in '69 and went through the transition from analog to digital, as well as the divestiture/breakup of the Bell System.
I told my coworkers that if I could make it to a payphone to call in sick I was not that bad. If I did not show up and did not call in sick, I was in the hospital. last time I tried to call in sick in 2009 there was no pay phone in town. that was when I got my first cell phone
