Escapee From Siberia

  1. We've been lead to believe it is cold all the time but they have nice summers. Maybe I read that here.

  2. Switzerland. Just looks like Siberia.

"From 1948 to 1990, Arnold Odermatt worked as the official police photographer in the Swiss canton of Nidwalden, recording images of car crashes to augment written accident reports. Odermatt also shot separate images of these scenes to satisfy his aesthetic interests, and his son discovered these photographs after he retired. The photographs have received acclaim for their formal properties and documentary-like quality in charting the rise and perils of car culture in Switzerland during the mid- to late-20th century."

  3. Swiss built Pilatus PC6 Porter, they were used as air ambulances in Switzerland in the '60s until replaced by helicopters. 200 yards is all it needs to take off.

    1. Makes sense. I don't believe a VW Beetle would be in Siberia.

  4. I think a PC24 might make a go of it there.

  5. That's near Stans, Switzerland. Right to the left is the Airstrip of the Pilatus Flugzeugwerke, where they still produce the Porters and where they filmed parts of Goldfinger. The Photographer Arnold Odermatt is worth a second look: https://www.galeriespringer.de/category/artists-of-the-gallery/odermatt-arnold/
