And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

me in early film business, working on the upper east side nyc, one morning I got sent by the wardrobe mistress to buy 5 generic white shirts from a known upscale dept store. I walked to it and was a few minutes early before they opened. anyway, the staff then assembled by their work stations, cash registers, etc, and with their hands over their hearts said the pledge of allegiance.
