And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I put the needle through my finger twice when I was about 5. I don't recall it hurting but maybe I shouldn't have been playing with the neighbour's sewing machine. Mrs Cocker was lovely and didn't growl at me.
IT didn't need to have all the decorative scrollwork... but it does and for that I am grateful. Taking the time to add artistic touches to an industrial tool seems to have gone by the wayside. Sad. SmileyFtW

ReplyDeleteSinger Model 15, one of the great ones. Made, in one form or another, for about 80 years. We have a hand-crank one, just in case the power goes out.
