Where do they get their water in a perch like this?

  2. Here in Northern AZ, we have several companies that will haul water to fill your cistern. I imagine that's what these folks would do.

    1. I hauled water for a while using a 1500 gallon truck. We could pump it 200' max from the closest we could park the truck to the customer's tank.

      These fire lookouts are on the top of very steep mountains typically with only foot trail access.

  5. Melted snow captured with a bucket on a rope???
    It would sure beat climbing up and down that rock pile lugging water.

    Yeah, yeah. I know. That snow is probably harder than that granite.

    b) hauled up on their backs.
    Hence the long-term stupidity of habitation.
    Fun for a weekend, hell for the long-term.
    But always a spectacular view.

  11. There is a woman doing remote look-out work on youtube shorts. They fly in water every 3 weeks, it comes in 5 gal packages.
