And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

You may not like Manhattan but the average 1 bedroom apartment is well over one million dollars today. Based on that seems like there is no shortage of people that want to live there.
I sent this terrific photo to a US Marine Vietnam veteran buddy who is a retired NYC fire chief. His reply was, "Back when the city was civil."
My comeback was, "It may have been more civil than today but compared to the rest of our once great nation back then, NYC was insanely wild and crazy!"
The Lost World. Never coming back. The next iteration is a favela, or the like.
