  2. The plane is a Junkers G38, the radiators protruding from the bottom of the wing were lowered for more cooling, an idea which didn't stand the test of time. Most pre-war Mercedes had suicide doors so I'll guess this is a custom 710. Moving the solid front axle forward of the engine allowed the engine and the whole car to be lower. I like the locking toolbox? in the front fender.
