And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Boss: "We need to improve the telephone." Egghead: "Got it! We'll make it radioactive! Get me a giant mutant atomic lineman and a giant test tube, now!"
Rotary dial up world was a very different world, I think if you did not get raised during that time, be close to unimaginable. Remembering right, think 1988, bossed a road crew, company gave me a early analog cell phone, had a big ass lead acid battery, came in a case with a shoulder strap it was so big and chunky, had to walk all over creation till the meter showed strong enough signal make a call. It seemed like an incredible luxury. About 4-5 years later they provided a Motorola flip phone, still analog, it worked better than even digital phones presently, I bought one for personal use, had to pay extra for analog data, even worked well up in the NH mountains at home, long as the signal was line of sight, excellent connections, just be near a notch as enough, up on top Wild Cat skying get 5 bars. Some thief broke in stole it, best darn phone, for calls, ever had.
