  2. Only issue with Ducati 90 degree bikes, the front cylinder sticks out, where the front tire is, where an inline four the cylinder bank lays more or less straight up, those bikes you can tune into the chassis optimal weight bias front to back, so the idea to with a Ducati is to get as much mass forward onto the front tire, one reason for the extreme forward seating design. The Ducati's handle much better when the rider hunkers forward much possible, push your butt up using your foot pegs, simply taking most of our body weight off the seat. Then with the superb big bang power stroke of the engine, you are able to dial on the throttle earlier leaned over coming out of the apex. Duc's handle real sweet like that, its a definite thrill getting it right. Exactly why me loves my Ducati.

  3. Are they shaft drive or chain/belt drive? I know the BMWs are shaft, HD belt. Aren’t Ducatis maintenance-intensive?

  4. No shafts on sports bikes, its a chain. Belts are only OK up to about 70ish horse power and the Duke is about 200. They are now trouble free to own as long as you maintain them at the stated mileage intervals so they are still expensive to own when you factor in the initial high sticker price. They do not tolerate neglect like the Jap bikes may do.
