  1. The problem with this, and all similar reflectors that are mounted INSIDE the car, is that the windshield still gets hot. Sitting in front of that hot windshield is like looking inside an open oven.

    I sewed up a kind of reflective "car hat", that was placed over the passenger compartment, on the outside, and was held on by straps closed in the doors.

    Makes a huge difference in the inside temp if you can prevent the sunlight from entering the car in the first place.

    And this was Houston in mid-summer.

  2. 40 years ago I knew the guy who first started selling foldable cardboard windshield shades. A simple idea that has come a long way. I worked with him when he was trying to sell pet food for Mars Inc. I hope he made a lot of money.
