And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The big bell guard says they are epees where there is no right of way. It is interesting the fencer on the right is gripping the handle at the extreme rear of the grip to give him an extra inch or so of reach. The fencer on the left's hand is deep in the bell in what looks like a fist shape, I will bet he has a pistol grip on his weapon.
I agree with John the River. Scary part is that those are epees and close infighting could actually dangerous. I love fencing, but it is based on a dangerous dueling and now as a physician I can't believe I used to do that. Too many ER late nights I guess
No way from that photo to establish right of way, someone could get a point against.
