Early ducted fan VTOL, probably experimental - likely a real bear to fly. Now same design with gyros and computer controls of fan thrust would be interesting.
So, not that long ago some inventor created a goofy looking toy flying machine and the friggin' Pentagon said, "We are tired of chopper transportation, let's create a new flying machine that will crash and kill our troops!!!"
