And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Hard to believe that the Russians were the first to launch a satellite into orbit when you see all the stupidity that's being filmed there. Three piece rims are dangerous, my auto shop teacher taught us to lay the wheel flat and lower the arm of the car hoist across it since we didn't have a tire cage. Al_in_Ottawa
When I think back on all the electrolysis-laden 5 hand hole aluminum tube type wheels I changed tires on when I was a young man, I thank the Good Lord that I survived the experience. My first order of business after I bought that truck was to switch over to tubeless aluminum wheels. Smartest move I ever made.
Well, using that ether starting fluid was the right idea, it started right up. Probably would've had a tough time getting that tire off, otherwise. Nice touch, using that other loader to hold it up, and stop the tire from going into the next oblast, though.
It's never a smart move to use ether when doing tire work. That's not what it's made for. It's especially stupid to use it to try to blow the rusted lock rings off of the rim of a wheel like that. That old man got what he deserved. He is (was) a hammerhead.
Fix a Flat?
ReplyDeleteWould someone please explain what happened?
DeleteInstalling a tire, trying to seat the bead by spraying starting fluid (ether) into the tire and igniting it.
DeleteInstall? Looks like intent was to remove. Still don’t understand.
DeleteWhere did the guy holding the flame go?
ReplyDeleteStraight to the bathroom to clean out his pants…
DeleteAfter he pats out his burning hair and clothing…
DeleteLittle too much gas

Good way to die.
ReplyDeleteGuy behind the tire must be hurt; Bad.
ReplyDeletePrepare to UnMount
ReplyDeleteUnMount!
Vodka and stupidity have always been hindrances there.
ReplyDeleteIt's like watching the rest of the Turd World when you give them complicated machinery.
I seated a flat equipment tire that way once. Never use to much starting spray. So you can live to try a second time
ReplyDeletejust the footwear on the guy with the long stick is nightmarish. I can see the look on the face of my last safety guy now.
