And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I'd rather the old tools. You know with certainty they are fine American steel. Older brother has dad's various crow bars. Those came from Navy and Marine stores.
(For the sake of the young'uns: No, not retail businesses. Here, stores refer to supply depots.)
My favorite is the Crescent indexable 18 inch crowbar. I have one that we cut off the plastic cover on the handle and installed a 5 foot long 1x1 square tube on it for more leverage,, and we use it to pry up old deck boards, its thin enough to hammer it between the board and the joist and the five foot extension on the handle gives me enough leverage to rip them up , I figured wed break the crowbar, expecially the indexing part, but its held up, even though the five foot extention now looks like a bananna.
I have a crowbar that sized in the back of my VW bus, you never know when you'll need to move something.
ReplyDeleteOne that size is on the back floorboard of my F250 for the same reason.
