And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Man do I miss whiskey! I love the stuff and At one time had a few dozen varieties that have dwindled down to under 2 dozen. Seems the Lord in His wisdom sorta weaned me off of it much like cigarettes- kinda “took them from me”. I still have some nice bottles but zero urge to enjoy them. Puzzling, and yet kinda amazing. Scotches were particularly intriguing. Cheers and slante’ to those of you still enjoying the stuff. Funny…I still occasionally find myself putting a nice bottle back for a future taste just in case.
Was a big single malt scotch fan after spending five years in England, but after being introduced to good bourbon by a friend I actually like bourbon better. It just has more variety. Though, like the post above, I find myself heading to the liquor cabinet less and less nowadays.

ReplyDeleteOban's one of my favourite towns and I've been there many times but, not being a great drinker, I've never tasted it!
ReplyDeleteArdbeg Wee Beasty is devine and wicked cheap. Beware this Islay is very peaty.
