Miss Guanajuato’s traditional outfit for Miss Mexico 2020 - Looks like she'd be a fun date. Alternative Title: I'd want her to preside at my Viking Funeral

  2. I like her body. I guess a bag over her head might work.

    1. I think it's an early Glenfield Model 60.

    2. Glenfield is a store branded name made by Marlin for Montgomery Wards or the like.

An online forum I recently discovered. A forum member by the name of Quicksilver wrote a real good history of Marlin. Worth reading.

This week I picked up a Model 60 with the JM stamp. It's in great condition and I got a good deal.

By Quickeye, not Quicksilver as I previously said.

    5. That's a good one. A buddy of mine has a Marlin 30/30 that's branded "Western Auto".

    6. The sons of John Marlin sold the company to an investor group. Fred Keenes (I think that's the name) was head of the group. He formed the Glenfield company under the Marlin umbrella.

Glenfield branded Marlin rifles for various companies including Western Auto, Coast To Coast Hardware, and others. Pretty savvy business sense.

I think people under the age of, say 60 wouldn't believe you could buy a rifle from the hardware or auto parts store.
Today people crow about 2A 'wins' in the courts. Well, it was forty years ago or so you could walk right in and five minutes later walk right out with a new rifle. Until that is commonplace again, I don't get excited about the 'wins'.

I bought my first rifle, a Win 94 in 30-30, at the hardware store. I walked down the street with the unboxed rifle and a box of ammo. In broad daylight in California. No one batted an eye.

    7. A little off topic, I have 2, 1974, Mossberg 500's. One is a Revelation, Western Auto Supply, the other is Westernfield. Both in xlnt shape, both slick as snot. Not something newer Mossbergs are noted for. Wouldn't trade 'em for a Winchester 1200/1300 or a newer Rem 870. Might, would trade one for an older Wingmaster, even though they only came in 2 3/4".

    8. I have a mag fed .22 rifle stamped CBC Magtech. It's a Mossberg license built in Brazil. Built by CBC, imported to the U.S. by CBC.
My understanding is Mossberg licensed many countries to build arms under their own names.

    9. @Tree Mike, similar thing here. I have a late 50s or early 60s Mossberg branded as Montgomery Wards. Pristine walnut on it. BTW, we are in same neck of the world. 37137 for me.

  4. A marlin M60 is effectively useful.
That is my favorite nieces go to Halloween outfit for the last 15+ years, since she got boobs. Pretty sure she's either agnostic or non hostile atheist.
She's a very high achiever, professionally, but I don't see a bright future for her.

  5. For All Souls Day (Nov. 1) - Dia De Los Muertos. The Mexican people honor their deceased with visiting their graves with offers of snacks or a shot of favorite liquor. The After Life for them isn't that scary - it is a destination for the Next Step.

  6. Wearing a face mask that looks like a corpse and carrying a rifle. She must be a member of the Sinaloa Drug Cartel

  7. About the .22 rifle..
Most Mexicans are legally permitted one handgun (up to .380 caliber) for self-defense per registered address, and up to nine longer firearms (rifles up to .22 and shotguns up to 12 gauge) if enrolled in a shooting or hunting club that is registered with the military.
