  1. If you are able to visit Germany, Rothenburg is one of the places that should be visited. This city is the last example of a Middle Ages walled city. The exterior renovations and construction inside the walls must match the original structure.

    1. Makes me glad there are places like this in Germany that escaped the destruction of bomb and shell during WW2.

  2. My wife and I spent 2 days there some years ago and it is indeed a lovely place. It seemed to have a peculiar attraction for Japanese tourists. There were dozens of buses full of them and hordes of short, slim, smiling older Japanese tourists wandering about taking millions of photos.

  3. It is not the last walled city in Germany. Noerdlingen and Dinkelsbuehl also have their walls. I believe Dinkelsbuehl has the only complete city wall.

  4. I went to the Christmas market there a few times in the 80's before "immigration" ruined Germany. I wouldn't go again now.

  5. When we went with a bunch of high school students several of us "off duty" chaperones went and had a beer in the "lowest level of hell". Of course, "hell" in German means "bright".
