Boeing Stearman

  1. Looks like an image from a recent Experimental Aircraft Assoc (EAA) monthly Sport Aviation magazine. There's a compelling article about this aircraft's restoration, and the story behind the rather unusual (but purposeful) paint scheme. In short, in the days before radio in aircraft was common, this was the Navy's way of telling student pilots to get their butts back on the ground, 'cuz some inhospitable weather is inbound.

  4. Want to go for a ride? Madras Oregon, Erickson Aircraft. I did, what a rush!
Even flew upside down. I was then wishing I had tightened my rig a couple of more notches.
