And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I'll try to find a six pack of Shiner Bock and rekindle the Bock memories. They were good times.

ReplyDeleteShiner Bock draft compares well to any beer, anywhere. I would rate the bottled version as “ok” but not great.
ReplyDeleteWhen i grew up in Tx, shiner was a crap beer. If I remember correctly it came in wide mouth bottles so you could get all the chunks out.

ReplyDeleteThe Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner Texas is the oldest brewery in Texas. You can find it about an hour and a half south of Dimebox.
ReplyDeleteIt is drinkable, but so are many other unremarkable brews. Other than the color and label saying it was a bock, I would not have known.
