Thanks, Elmo

  1. Truly, a great pistola. Shot my first wild boar with my grandpa's 44 mag, the pig reach around pullued my arrow out rest of the way, turned and charged. Used 5 rounds, reloaded and put 3 more in the SOB, while standing up on a blowdown tree. Not much meat left wasn't blood bruised from 240 grain hand loads. Blood everywhere on the snow, darn pig wold not die, shot both front legs below the shoulders, on leg almost separated but for some muscle and tendons. Pretty freaking wild 10 minutes. Might been pigs dinner if for that Ruger. Bought the Ruger .44 carbine in 1978, still hunt with it, pop left me the pistola.

    1. And that's why I've seen guys turned away from joining pig hunts because they had a rifle but no pistol. All their complaining and yammering didn't change a thing.

  2. I like them old ads. So yes, thanks, Elmo.

My 1956 Super Blackhawk in .44 mag is a straight shooter. In almost brand new condition she's purty too.

  6. Never had one but I’ve had a couple MkIIs and now have a couple single sixes. One in the bi-centennial edition. A SP 101 in .327 and several M77s. My only hog never took a step or even squealed after taking a 139gr 7mm WSM to the coconut. 225 pounds or so. Can’t go wrong with Ruger IMHO. ET in Dixie

  7. Dad kept a Speed 6 in the glovebox of the field truck on the farm. I learned to shoot pistil with that gun. When I turned 16 dad turned me loose on his reloading bench. I had to use 38 Spl cases and Blue Dot powder that almost filled the case. I would shoot 200 to 300 rounds a week for the next 3 years. I got good with that gun.

  8. Bought a 357 Blackhawk in 1979 as my first handgun. Around 2000 I return it to Rugar for repair as the hammer would no longer stay locked back when cocked. Rugar fixed it up and it's still good, but I don't shoot it as much as I did those first 20 years.
