And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Not really United States. Many of the territories highlighted are not STATES. Somehow we as a country have come to accept that there are some Americans that due to the place where they were born don't have the same rights as other Americans. People born in most territories can't vote for representatives some can't vote for president. People born in American Samoa are US nationals not citizens. They have to apply for citizenship. Only parts of the constitution apply in some of these territories.
It is messy, complicated and in many cases very unfair.
