And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Add a shovel, a few buckets and maybe a prybar. Going to need a gold pan too.
It's physical work..I tried if for a couple of days and got a few specks of gold for my trouble, I found a different hobby. I met a guy who was big time into prospecting as a "hobby" (in that he did other things for a living), anyway he told me that when he was 8 he found a gold nugget! He was hooked at that point for the rest of his life.
About 30 years ago I worked with a guy in Pomona that liked to spend weekends prospecting in the foothills on the east side of Death Valley. I never knew if he came back with any color or if it was really more camping trips with some prospecting on the side.
I have a cousin that will go out in the hills and fill his truck bed with river bed dirt. He will haul it back to Bakersfield where he has a sluice in his back yard. He gets an ounce or two every year. He sells the dirt for about as much as he makes on the gold.

Agreed. Five gallon buckets, a shovel, and a pan are desperately needed here.

DeleteSluice looks mighty handy, easy to hump to where many will not. Been only using a pan and hand tools. Like to try a sluice couple spots.
