And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
There's a self-service ice vending machine near me that has a very poorly worded instruction graphic to explain its operation. The first time I went to purchase ice there, I had to wait my turn, so I parked nearby and watched as some guy fiddle around for a while, but then leave without any ice. I assumed there was some problem with the machine, so I walked over to see what the deal was. I had to read over the instructions a couple of times but soon realized that the other guy had paid for his ice but was just not able to understand what to do to complete the transaction. There are 2 options, ice in a bag that they provide or ice in a container that you provide. If you select bagged, the first thing that happens is an empty bag comes down the little ice chute, you open the bag and once you have it in position, out comes the ice. If you select unbagged the machine waits for your container, then dispenses the ice. When I looked in the chute there was a nice little folded bag, so I opened it and positioned it according to the instructions. The ice immediately came down the chute into the bag. The bags have i built in tie, so I tied it and off I went with my free ice. Now whenever I need ice I wait a bit for someone else to pay, become confused, then leave without ice, then I go pick up my free ice.
Matthew - You should help them get their ice. It's being a good neighbor. It will make their day, your day, and the ice machine company will stay in business longer, making everyone's day.
