And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I haven't seen the feral cats around here go after a fox yet. but everything else? they have wiped out any mice that are stupid to come close. same deal with any birds and squirrels. they chase the damn squirrels up the tree ! started with 3-4 when we moved in here. after feeding them= kittens !! ended up getting about 15 or them cut/fixed. she gave away a bunch of kittens and now we down top about 10. and they are death on everything
We have a red fox that hangs around and have seen him on our back deck a couple of times. At first, I thought it might be rabid. It turns out he was after cat food my wife puts out on a patio table so the cats can eat, but the dogs cannot. The red fox is small and looked poor when I first saw him but looked healthier the last time. I hope the fox stays ahead of those feral cats my wife feeds. LOL
Foxes tend to be playful and friendly, overall. They don't fare well in fights with cats, as they only have teeth, and cats have 4 sets of claws to add to their teeth. Had a red fox as a pet in high school. Dad took him to work a lot. Ended up on a farm, after getting injured in dad's towtruck. As he was recuperating in a veterinarian teaching hospital, the mostly city kid students thought he was a dog!
Looks like a Maine Coon running him down.
ReplyDeleteI'd be shitting bricks is that size of a cat was after me!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are 30-35 lbs. Chapel Hill had a couple that bred them back in the 1980s.
DeleteIf it's a Coon Cat, then the chances are he just wants to play. They're notably gregarious and laid-back cats.
