Lingonberry is always good. Cloud berry is unique - there are seeds in there. Goose berries are common in the Sierra, so I'm surprised they aren't made into jam more commonly here.

  1. Ever heard of Marionberrry jams and preserves? Amazon carries it. Good stuff.

My bride was gifted a small jar from a friend in Oregon and I've been forbidden from using it. See how she is?

  2. We used to be able to by #10 cans Gooseberry jam at Safeway, back when we were too poor to be able to afford it very often. That was 50 years ago, and we still talk about it once in awhile.

    1. Do you happen to remember 'Empress' strawberry jam that Safeway used to sell back then? It came in a big 4 pound tin with a lid that you'd pry off. We used to go through that stuff like crazy when we were kids. Fond memories.

  4. I have four gooseberry bushes and make jam. Gooseberry and cherry or rhubarb jam is mighty tasty. Gooseberry pie is also fantastic.

You keep posting about lingonberry jam and I'll have to order some.

  5. Lingonberry sauce made in Europe lists the % of berries in it. A good one will have 70% or more.
