  1. For some people the thought that they are potentially in the sights of an armed person would be a cause of intense stress. Same as catching sight of another citizen in public carrying a gun.
If I see a armed citizen or a clerk with an openly holstered handgun I feel safer. An armed society is a polite society, and safer.

    1. Take away the guns then it would be a higher rate of knife deaths, take away the knives and it would be a higher rate of people clubbed to death (don't mean dancing to bad music and snorting coke).
Eventually it would be older people killed by younger, individuals killed by gangs, and etc...
It's not the guns. It's people that want to hurt and kill and take.
Take a look at the stats for Texas and compare it to Illinois, especially Chicago. A State and a city with strict gun control. And a lot more dangerous.

I'd correct that statement to read; "A society ruled by Democrats is a society that demonstrably has a higher violent death rate per capita than any other civilized society on the planet.

    2. However, look at Australia and the UK to mention but two. Far fewer deaths per capita to gun or knife crime than here in the US. Too blinkered to any other way here in the US.

    3. There's nothing very civilised about any society that requires one to carry weapons of any type in order to go about daily life.

  3. Who really wants to live in a country where only the government can have guns? Well over a 100 million people were killed by their own countries in the 20th century.
