And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Being a diehard Ford guy Buick was the only GM product I really liked. Riviera,GS,Electra all cars I really would have wanted back in the day as they say… Klaus
My mom had a '66 Cutlass Special convertible, white/black and it was the car I had my first 'solo' drive in at 16. That looks like a '64 Wildcat to me - man, those Buick Wildcats, they were plenty hot. The 'Super Wildcats' had big blocks with dual 4-barrel carbs if I recall.....
My Dad had a '65 or '66 wildcat.....silver with a black vinyl top....I remember that elliptical steering wheel and the way that thing would get up and go....once made St. Pete to Daytona in an hour and a half.....of course the old man confiscated the keys as soon as I arrived.....it never occurred to me why he wanted me to call right before I left....17 year olds are sometimes fairly dumb....
Yup, '64 Wildcat. My Dad had one just like this only silver. As others have said, that was one fast ride! 401 ci as I recall and front disc brakes. Fastest car I had ever driven up to that point and there have not been very many faster since then.
Was an olds man myself, had a 66 toronado in high school, 1976, loved that beast. One of the best designs by olds. Looked like a rocket ship and went like one too. For a two ton beast was pretty quick. oh to be young again

ReplyDeleteHad a 64 Cutlass convertible, canary yellow w/black top, and sold it when I went into the military in 66.
