And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

A friend took a student pilot for a flight over the desert. Idiot student wanted to land in the desert. His perception of the desert is wide open empty spaces devoid of any form of life.
I knew a man who had to put down in the desert in eastern CA, not far from AZ border. He hit a creosote bush hard enough to bend a prop blade. He and a passenger spent the next two days straightening the prop. He is an A&P and had tools. He did a good enough job they were able to fly to an airport withiut tearing the engine off its mounts.

Moved to Mojave desert from east coast. Was shocked how much lively there was.
