Corded power tools are still needed for most big jobs, I'll use mine instead of the battery saw unless it's a simple cut or cutting in a place where power is not available. With that said I watched a professional we hired do a LOT of cutting with battery powered tools.

Always good to have. I have 2. The next one I get will have the blade on the left, cause I'm right handed and I'm tired of looking over the side to see the mark. Yes, I know, it'll change the cut orientation but I'm willing to try it out for accuracy's sake.
My PC has a laser sight line which I found really handy. I know dragging cords around are passe but I prefer a corded power tool because it always works.
