And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Not an old boat. That's a very nice jet boat with a big block Chevy or Ford engine most likely. Controls are like auto with accelerator Pedal on floor and jetavator control on the left side to change angle of pump exit.
Being a carpenter I have always wanted to build one of those. Being a Ford guy; after finding out from my diesel mechanic that the 6.0 was originally designed as a marine race motor and just happen to have an extra one to rebuild with bulletproof head stud kit. I may just found my retirement project.
There's a guy in Idaho, McCall I think, that scours the country for old hulls and rebuilds them. He also sells the old hulls in As Is condition quite often with all the original hardware. They are very affordable. That would be a great start for a project. Not having to run around looking for original hardware, etc is a saver of time and headaches.
FYI: after restoration they can fetch $100k and up.
Love those 'wooden boats' - and here is a great feature on 'em

ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget the slalom ski!
That’s purty! I’ve never seen a left hand drive boat before…maybe they reversed the pic? Curious….
