And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
IIRC, the ones with those curved rear quarter windows were somewhat rare. Called a "five window?" Maybe a '65. Neat thing with them is the really low bed height. Had one with the bigger straight six. Bad thing was they had to put a counterweight over the gas tank to make up for the lack of weight when they changed it from a van body. No traction without it.
Yep, if you remove the counterweight and hang it on the font bumper, you can do a stoppie.
I drove lots of cabover 18 wheelers in the 90s, I liked the ones with the set back axle. very handy for city driving. and YOU are the crumple zone. It makes you a more careful driver for sure.
I knew a guy the had a big block Chevy motor in one about 1970.

ReplyDeleteDrove a van version in the early '70's. Had the 144cu.in. strait 6 gutless wonder in it.

Bought a full size van version on a Friday afternoon and had 2 days to learn the "3 on the tree" in order to drive it to work on Monday. Good times...
