How Submarines Regularly 'Fight To The Death' Off The Bahamas

  1. Those subs even have shifters in them. How come I don't see Hurst on them?

  2. Very interesting, especially playing in shallow waters. Yes, there are a few patches of deep water in that area but they are limited in width and length. Even the 'Tongue of the Ocean' is a deadend.

I see the bubbleheads have the decency to not wear the camo.

  3. If I remember correctly, shifters were hydralic transfer valves normal/ emergency. It has been 25+ years though. Sub Qualified Until I Die. My boat had a string and plumb bob compared to this setup. Also the helmsman planesman watch were the two least qualified (newest nubs)guys on the boat. Dive (Dive Officer) behind Chief of the Watch(COOW) seated Left rear. EM2(SS)

  5. decades back I worked for hours on a "luggable" ( what we mockingly called suitcase sized portables ) with a green screen. when I went outside the moon was purple. I have to wonder what staring at a red display for hours does to your eyey.

  6. A standard watch is 4 hours between reliefs, so probably not much, other than preserve night vision for everyone else in main conn.
