And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Back in the 80's I had a 78 F-100 with the factory 3" lift, 400M, granny gear 4-speed, with 4:10 gears. It had a set of 33 "Gumbo Mudders" and never got stuck until I put a wench on the front of the truck. I quickly figured out that a wench will pull up every tree that was within cable distance. When I took the wench off I stopped getting stuck.
And once it's wound on and around the wheels, you get it off...??
Presumably you have to drive some distance to solid ground, and then attempt to back it off...if there's anything salvageable left of it.
In fact, depending on your tie-off, you might have to back right back into trouble to unhitch it, unless it's single use, and you whip out your bowie knife and start shredding.
I think I like the bolt-on wheel winch capstans better. Simpler.
You just need something to hook to.

My wench would never stay on the front of the vehicle. She insists on sitting INSIDE.
