Ok, what kind of fish does she have there?

  1. That's a redfish. The black spot on the tail is a great "fieldmark" for identification.

  2. Spot tail bass on the east coast Redfish on the gulf.
Paul Prudhommes Blackened Redfish most ruined the fishery but they came back nicely. They taste wonderful.

  3. Could be a redfish, red, red drum, channel bass, puppy drum, or spottail bass. ;-)

  4. Good eatin', is what that is. Reds are about the best tasting fish put there, if cooked correctly.

  5. Looks like a salt water Corbina but obviously isn't. I've shot a few in CA.

  6. Not only good eatin', but it can be pretty stubborn about coming to the net.

  7. Redfish. One of the few saltwater sight-casting options on the gulf coast. Strongest fighting fish for their size, notorious for their run after being hooked. Will break the drag on lesser reels. Nothing like catching a 3 ft long fish swimming in ankle deep water. I've seen bull reds swimming in water so shallow they were only half submerged.

  8. School sized are the best eating....the bigger bulls tend to be wormy, though you can cut around them when filleting....sides, the worms are just more protein....I like my worms at least medium rare....

  9. Red fish is good, but Black Drum is better.
