And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Ah, the caddis fly, an enticement to trout. Last time in the water for me was the day after Christmas. No dry fly action, but I did entice a couple of browns to a little wet fly nymph my brothers and I call the Mort Special, or Beauty Rest, which is tied with some mattress stuffing as a trailing shuck. Pretty much all the Michigan rivers are running high for this time of year, some are unwadeable, which means time at the tying bench instead of fishing.
springtime is worth living for!
ReplyDeleteSo far the snow pack this year is good, so we should have some great water all year. The planning begins...
DeleteDo you know the name of this fly? Interesting, Looks like it has quills tied on.
ReplyDeleteMy dad swore by this place for fly fishing, and he fished all over N Calif.
