There was a story of a P-51 and a FW-190 met over the Hump flying opposite direction. Told from the view of the Mustang pilot, he was tired, cold, and hungry. He figured the -190 pilot was too for they definitely saw each other, passing at same altitude, less than one mile but both kept going.
Appears to have the ~2ft plug extension to the fuselage, and definitely has the v-12, as the exhaust stack line is visible just above the leading edge of the wing. Oddly, no swastika on the vertical tail. Thought that was mandated.
A FW Dora?
ReplyDeleteAn apex predator.
ReplyDeleteSure looks like an FW-190D, though the TA-152/153 is similar with the long nose.
ReplyDeleteFiat G55?

ReplyDeleteFW 190....isn't it funny how both sides got back to radials at the end of the war....
ReplyDeleteThat's not a radial, even though it looks like one from the outside. The Dora was powered by a Junkers Jumo inverted V12.
ReplyDeleteTA-152. Look at the length of the fuse between the rudder and cockpit.
