And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Let's hope they keep it up. A good screenwriter should take up the challenge, and write a script with the two of them starring in a comedy where they are now older, wiser and cleverer, and have moved into the establishment that they eschewed before in their younger years. But, still up to their old tricks. Cheech, for instance, could be the major of LA. Chong could be the CEO of a statewide marijuana marketing conglomerate. Both married to blonde bombshells. Too predictable? Dunno, it could be genius.
CW Thats a brilliant movie idea; it would make a fortune. Chong wrote an excellent autobiography, I found at the library...their movies were how they actually lived!
Two worthless f-ing dopeheads they were the Beavis and Butthead of the 70s. They helped (with others ) to implant drug culture so deeply into our society and we'll never be rid of it.
As the pilot said on my first drug patrol back in 1978 (41 years ago), "we're doing our part to keep the price of drugs up on the street". I guess going thru the motions makes some people happy.
They're comedians first and foremost, and they were no more worthless than any other successful comedians. I laughed my ass off listening to their records and their first couple of movies.
"Yellow Pecker Charlie to Roger fucks dogs.....Over......" Vietnam, 1971 "Dave's not here...No goddammit! This IS Dave..." Classic. Still have "Big Bambu" 1972 WITH the rolling paper intact! Good times, good memories.
They are still alive and kicking and it's almost 2020!

ReplyDelete00:32:17 I said we're gonna get down for you all, because... Oh, remember. Tuesday night
