Trump takes aim at trickle-down toilets, faucets, showers.
“We have a situation where we’re looking very strongly at sinks and showers and other elements of bathrooms,” Trump told a meeting of small business leaders at the White House. “You turn the faucet on in areas where there’s tremendous amounts of water ... and you don’t get any water,” he added.
He said the Environmental Protection Agency was looking “very strongly at my suggestion.”
The fixtures “end up using more water,” Trump told the roundtable where U.S. officials also reviewed his agenda of slashing regulations such as those on efficient light bulbs. “People are flushing toilets 10 times, 15 times, as opposed to once,” he said.
I dunno about 10 or 15 times, but certainly twice. I've learned to hate nanny state laws like this, for this exact reason. They turn out to cause more waste, less efficiency, and all so some deluded pearl clutchers can virtue signal to each other, like some kind of exotic bird attempting to attract a mate.
EPA spokesman Michael Abboud said his agency is working with other departments so consumers have more choices in water products.
Heard his presser on this...serious but funny (as we all get it...every bath fixture I have installed gets the nanny-state restrictor removed so it's usable.)
ReplyDeleteNadler can now add this to his list of [non]impeachable offenses in order to protect the asinine EPA.
When we moved to our new house 15 years ago I hated the water saving shower head in my bathroom. Went over to the old place and swapped it for the pre EPA BS shower massage. Got the bathroom remodeled a few years back and the contractor tossed it and put in a new one which sucked for flow rate. First thing I did was remove the restrictor. Still not quite as good as the old one, but not bad........
DeleteJust like the bic lighters with the child proof thing that has to be removed, the new electronics won't play loud music thru headphones, the damn gocart with the governor & the safety warning on the pistol I just got, enough of the government telling me what's good for me. Good thing Im retired so I have time to fix them.
DeletePresident Trump - MAGA, please.
ReplyDeleteI had to flush twice the other day at my daughter's the other day.
ReplyDeleteFlush Trump away, he's the biggest turd.
ReplyDeleteIf he's a turd, he's the best turd we've had in the last 25 years.
ReplyDeleteRoger. That.
DeleteMany Boston suburbs have banned plastic bags, mandating paper. The wine/liquor store used to put your two or three bottles in a plastic bag; bottles were snug and did not bang against each other. It worked.
ReplyDeleteNow we are free of evil plastic. But they double bag the paper sacks, then fold up additional paper bags to use as padding between the bottles (which knock around inside the paper sack). Instead of one plastic bag, we end up using 3 to 5 (depending on the clerk) paper bags. Not sure this is a win. Idiots.
Mike_C: It's just the clerk's way of "Sticking It To The Man".
