I was talking earlier about Celtic style engraving on a 1911 - this is a SIG-Sauer P226 X-Five Mastershop Prestige Tyr.

It was at auction.  Asking 26k Euro.

  1. My gosh, isn't that pretty. The artisan who made that should be proud.

  2. Book plug- for those who like fancy "Steel Canvas", R.L.Wilson.
A compendium of finely engraved and inlaid arms from the 1600's to recent, emphasis on firearms, from 1750 on. A great coffee table book. Some really outstanding unusual examples, Celtic style , Art Deco, etc, along with a host of scrolls and oak leaves.
Also, check out the Desbourgh Mirror from the British Museum, if you like the shield shown previously- it is a treat.
