And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

San Diego, June 3, 1968: General Dynamics employee Toni Taura with models of the Atlas, Centaur, F106, and F102.
As a (current) 70 year old, I lived 15 miles from Kinross (Kincheloe) AFB which was a SAC base with BUFFs and an Air Defense Command base with F-102s and F106s (later). Sonic booms were a daily occurrence in those times. Good times.........We also had a BOMARC missile base and airfield about 25 miles away. Never saw a BOMARC.
