Been there Done that about 43 years ago. i was in Germany in 1976 and went to the rod and gun-club to get some ear muffs (hearing protection). The guy behind the counter asked me what i want ed them for and i said for Mortars and he asked if they really were that loud. Lets see a 9 pound shell with a range of 3 miles back then why would i need hearing protection i really can't blame him though. Holly weird always show mortars sounding like a fat man spitting watermelon seeds
