And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

A Chicago cop was shot but not injured during a recent shooting. The bullet hit his gun while in holster.
I don't think that's sanding. It looks like dust/gunfire residue/skin-detritus from EDC. There's no retention pressure on the front sight, so that doesn't get squeegeed on a draw/return.
It's probably just as well he didn't try to return fire, since it looks like his slide wouldn't move. Don't know what would happen, but it likely wouldn't be good!
What the heck did that cop do to his front sight?
ReplyDeleteLooks like he sanded the top of the slide too.
I guess this lucky guy wasn't Chicago Officer Samuel Jimenez who died yesterday in a gunfight. Rest in Peace officer Jimenez.
