  2. You don't walk in those, you use them to keep your feet in the stirrups. That's jousting armor. The better question would be "Why is he holding a crossbow?"

    1. Exactly. Knights had a hasty way with archers and cross bow men in particular.

  3. The pointy parts of the sabatons come off for walking. The are used to help keep your feet in the stirrups, like Uatu said, but are also useful for poking people in the eye.

    Nice work on the armor.
