And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I had (and still have) a young cat do this to me one day. Right after I stained a deck floor she wandered in out of our garden, crossed the deck and walked into the house before I spotted her.
My Dad laid concrete squares about 3' across with redwood dividers to make a patio in the home I grew up in. It was spectacular, but the very first square had one perfect pawprint, smack in the middle of the square, just where you couldn't miss it.
We never did figure out how our cat managed to put just the one pawprint in the middle of the square without touching anything else around it, but it was discussed over drinks around the BBQ for the next 20 years!
