Caught more trout on this than anything else

  1. Rooster tails, Super Dupers, and Daredevils always worked for me in the high lakes, and small creeks. For some reason, I never noticed the Kastmaster until about 20 years ago.

    1. The advantage the Kastmaster has is you can sling it way, way out there if need be. Rooster Tails are pretty effective too.

    2. Dry fly with a clear plastic bubble half-full of water, about two feet up the line. Simple and effective, easy to cast. Caught piles of tasty lake trout with this setup on my trusty Mitchell 300 and a telescoping pack rod.
Rod and reel, a little tackle box and a Rapala filet knife are always stowed in my camp gear when I hit the road.

  2. Great lure for steelhead fishing from shore in Lake Erie. Time for a road trip...............

  3. I caught many Atlantic Bluefish with the same lure. Surfcasting. Really a versatile lure.
