Hard working men and the biggest crosscut saw I've ever seen.
Man, I wonder where that saw is today? One hopes it is still cared for and maintained, even if it's just hanging over someone's mantle. It's interesting that it has a pattern of four cutters and then a raker.
Big attitude - big work.
ReplyDeleteThey actually made longer saws than that by taking two saws and welding them together. I would think they'd be a real job to use.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to arm wrestle one of those guys for money! Very few men work that hard today!
ReplyDeleteIn their day they called them "misery whips".
